If you mean your friends keep talking about it or something, take the following steps:
1. Try to change the subject. Failing that:
2. Explain that you don't particularly care for the show or just that you would like to talk about something else. Politely ask them to stop. Failing that:
3. Tell them to STFU. Failing that:
4. Ditch them for a while. Go hang out with people who talk about things you do like.
Some of us like the series because we find it amusing and love the better parts of the fandom, and most of us will admit to the show's flaws. The insane fans who rabidly attack people who are politely disinterested are just a very (very, very) vocal minority.

(Anonymous) 2011-05-05 03:23 am (UTC)(link)You can't control, nor should you, how and what a person posts and gets excited about. How would you like it if a friend asked you, hey, "I really hate US/UK could you knock it off and post about something else?" I don't see that going down very well.
And realize that people sometimes have more than one fandom at a time and while they share a fandom with you they could also probably be into something you really can't stand. Nothing you can do about that. Personally, I can't stand Kuroshitsuji but I have friends that happen to like it. So, no, some people can't escape a fandom they hate unless your solution is to cut those friends off, which, in that case, you can rightly fuck off.
I don't like how you guys seem to assume that the OP is an idiot who can't follow common sense. I guess you guys are so blinded by hatred that your own common sense suffers.

Using you USUK thing, I actually do have a friend who completely abores USUK, where as I adore it. However, because I am aware that they don't like it, I never bring it up. By the same token though, you have to let them know what you don't like. If you don't say it, they won't know - and honestly? Being an ass about it isn't a way to get people to do what you want about something like this.
2. When it comes to F-lists and posts, guess what? There's this wonderful thing called the scroll bar. It lets you move past the parts of posts you don't want to read.
3. That whole spiel about friends who don't share all your fandoms? That's where the points one and two come in. If you really don't want to talk about it, ask if you can not - and when they post something about it, scroll past it. I've done both before when it came to certain fandoms I can't stand [and I still do it for Dr. Who fandom - which, love it or hate it is a *very* big fandom]
I'm sorry, but the way I see it *you're* the one who isn't using common sense right now.
