While I liked Rose, I thought River Song was--strange, when we first meet her in The Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, I loved that episode, and did find her sorta intriguing--I wasn't really sure what they were going to do with a character like her.

Then she returns for Series 5, now (as I have explained to my friends), while I couldn't say I disliked her character(indeed I'd be hard pressed to point to a Doctor Who I hated), there seemed to be something "off" about her. Now, you could put this down to bad acting/casting/directing etc;, but I really liked everything else about these episodes, so it made me wonder if it was intentional--especially because in these last two Series 6 episodes (no major spoilers ahead, don't worry), there seems to be something different about her. Like--a certain aspect of her character is coming to light. And a lot of fans are now saying they like her way better.
