Trust me, if she'd said it to Lori to her face in a private message or even on her personal journal- that is to say, directly to her, but not in a place created specifically for wank like this one- then I guarantee things would have turned out differently.

I mean, you're free to believe what you wanna believe, but the only people who have ever been banned from Lori's comms other than people who do things like stealing other members' photos are ones who post in fandom_wank/fandomsecrets/act two-faced.

Or their own personal journals. Or the comm itself. ;)

See now, that's the thing, though. I don't see the point of complaining about fandom shit in the first place, especially when I might have mutual friends with the mod of any community I'm in. Why say anything at all, if you know it could have repercussions/the person you're writing about could see it? What we do isn't at all different from what happens in the real world. Think of it like a company. Don't write something negative that someone else might find out about and then get mad when there are consequences for what you've written.

The internet is not a private place, no matter how much you might try and lock up your posts.

Because you have a right to. I have the right to complain about anybody i damn well please, and if it's in my personal journal, i expect it to stay there. You wanna talk about two-faced? You wanna talk about backstabbing? Talk about the person who went and snitched to Tanz. That person was the OP's "friend" and had no right to go spouting her shit to Tanz, whether it was about her or not. That's SUPPOSED to be the beauty of Friendslock. True, nothing is sacred on the internet, and i would recommend the OP take a close look at the company she keeps, but this was not posted for the world to see. It was posted on a journal that was supposed to be for friends only; Tanz was not among them, and therefore didn't need to be involved.

And for someone who claims to not give a shit what people think about her, she sure pulls out the banhammer fast on people who say negative things about her. Anyone who can't recognize that is a fool, and anyone who can't see that she's got a mean streak is blind. If she really didn't care, she'd let it roll right off her back, because it really wasn't her business anyway.

What nobody seems to realize, is that maybe the OP liked the MH comm for the people who post in it, not for Tanz. Believe it or not, a comm is not just made of it's mod. Maybe she didn't want to go to Tanz directly because she didn't want to start drama in a comm she liked, no matter how upset she was at the mod. She wanted to get it off her chest in private and be done with it. And thanks to one person's meddling, look what it's become.

i tried to suggest this last night but got ignored for "you deserve to be fired if you vent to your friend about something at work, and that friend passes it on, even if there was an assumed trust that the friend wouldn't say anything". because, of course, that's totally ethical (to be fired because you were complaining in private, in a way that doesn't affect your work performance in anyway (maybe even improves it, because of less irritation!), simply because you were complaining).

1. I called nobody that. I don't use that word. I disagreed with her policy on the relevance of shit that happens outside the community.

2. f_s isn't for wank, it's for secrets (some of which are wanky).

I believe that censoring a letter in an offensive word is considered as inoffensive a way to make it clear you don't condone the word's usage as possible when it's still necessary to make it clear what word was used.
