Now we know you're trolling for sure.

The "I, I, I" Utena is using is the right thing to do, actually. When resolving a conflict with someone else, you need to acknowledge what you have done, since doing otherwise can shove certain actions and feelings down the other person's throat.

Ah, Jesus Christ, Anthy is going "I, I, I" as well. Saying that Anthy is purely a victim is such bullshit.

Part of the series was realizing that part of what was holding Anthy back was herself. And what I enjoy about the ending was her deciding to feel, to care, to stop buying into the games and spreading the pain. She didn't LIKE where she was and who she was. She stopped buying into the idea that she had to stay part of a setup that hurt her when she was the source of the setup's power.

You don't have to like Utena but man, the idea that Anthy was just peachy where she was . . . That's pure unadulterated crack.

Anthy does the same thing. But good try! -_-

Also, if Anthy REALLY liked where she was, if she TRULY wanted to stay the Rose Bride and "not have to think" (which is such BS), then she wouldn't have left on her OWN ACCORD at the end.

Okay. Let's try this without the word "I," and see how sincere that seems.

Utena: No.
Utena: Your pain wasn't recognized.
Utena: Your suffering wasn't realized.
Utena: Instead, you had someone pretending to be a Prince who could save you.
Utena: It was just a conceited way of protecting you.
Utena: And when you were seen with Akio-san...it seemed like a betrayal.
Utena: When you were suffering so much...when you had been told we should save each other...
Utena: You are not the one being unfair. You are not the one who is dirty. (Note: she can't say that she was the one being unfair or dirty, because that would require the use of "I")
Utena: You were the one who was betrayed.
Anthy: It's okay now, so please...leave this school.
Anthy: Please forget about all of this.
Utena: How...the hell could that be?

See what happens? If you don't use direct "I" statements when apologizing to someone, then you never truly take responsibility for what you've done. You list all the wrongs that have been committed without ever acknowledging that you're the one who committed them. In other words, if you don't use "I," you detach yourself from the situation and shift the burden of blame off your shoulders.
