OK, what she did definitely wasn't cool, but this is Quinn we're talking about. Now they're even, if that. Quinn is a terrible person who used to be bullied and instead of learning from the experience, chose to turn around and mock people for exactly the same sort of things. I believe in taking the high road, but there's something to be said for a taste of your own medicine. ...Of course, it completely backfired because those other girls decided they loved her for being "one of them," which made NO SENSE.

I actually think there are interesting things to be taken from the fact that Quinn turned around and acted exactly the same to others as she herself had been treated, as bullying is often perpetuated by people who were previously bullied. I know I've been there, even though I'm deeply apologetic about it now.

But yeah, this is Glee. So it just comes off as shallow and patronising at best and insulting at worst.

I also think the other girls deciding they love her for being one of them and it not making any sense was on purpose, satirizing how fickle teenage girls are or something like that.

How are they even? I could be having selective memory (I love Quinn and despise Lauren) but Quinn has never done a single thing to Lauren. This prom queen thing was entirely instigated by Lauren - Quinn had never tried to sabotage her before this.

Also, I think there's something very meaningful in the fact that Quinn became a bully herself, because it's actually quite in-character. She didn't have power and saw what it meant to have power, so she took every bit she could get. It doesn't make her a great person, sure, but it makes her an absolutely awesome character.

For me the bottom line is, I guess, it doesn't matter who you're being awful to. Lauren didn't try to justify her actions by saying Quinn deserved it and I think she would have done the same to anyone. Her motive wasn't trying to teach Quinn a lesson; she was just trying to win. Maybe some people see it as a great thing, but I kind of think she's a terrible person who is deluded about her ~~badassery~~. YMMV.

You do have selective memory. I suggest you rewatch to see how St. Quinn acted when Lauren announced she was running for prom queen. Unless by "instigated" you mean daring to sully the race with her ugly fatness in the first place (in which case let the judging begin).

What Quinn did wasn't quite the same as posting another person's secrets on bulletins across the school. It wasn't nice, no, but there is a difference between something said - fairly quietly even - between two people, and slathering someone else's personal secrets up for the world to see.

And no - I'm not a Quinn fan, and Quinn has done horrible things that are just as bad - but that particular one wasn't one of them.

By "instigated" I mean that Lauren went digging around in Quinn's past when Quinn did not do anything against Lauren despite how upset she was that Lauren was running in for Prom Queen. Yes, she said that line about pig's blood, but she didn't actually do it. She said a few nasty things, but you know what? I would have as well. Prom Queen was really damn important to Quinn and even though I don't think that makes her nastiness justifiable, it does make it understandable. (Also, as if saying mean things about someone to their face - and let's face it, mostly true things, re: how she might get lol votes - is even comparable to what Lauren did to Quinn.)

Quinn's certainly not a saint, but aside from a few nasty comments Quinn has never done anything to Lauren. Lauren dug around in Quinn's past and was frankly cruel about it. Neither of them is perfect but in this case at least they are definitely not "even".
