Are you kidding? Hardly anyone likes Steph, and it's pretty much entirely because she's white and she replaced Cass. So many people won't even give her a chance. If Steph ever becomes more popular than Cass (which I think is pretty unlikely), it'll be despite her race.

Everyone I've talked to adores Steph and thinks BQM's writing one of the best comics on the market at the moment.

A lot of people love the character individually while simultaneously recognising how much it sucks that she, Kara, and Cassie who make up the distaff heirs of the big three identities are all blonde and blue-eyed.

I gathered that was the general opinion over on S_D too, and that the sales figures were consistently pretty damn good.

I've met maybe one person ever who hated Steph.

Really? Huh, well, I guess I need to hang out in better comic communities! Great to know Steph is getting some love. I didn't read the newest Batgirl series for ages because I kept hearing how terrible she was, and when I go to buy issues now the cashier always looks at me like I'm mental. I guess I've just been unlucky.

Cassie should go back to wearing that black wig from her early YJ days. It would at least give the illusion of variety :P
