Something like this happened to me. I was watching the news with my grandparents, and they had something on gay marriage. Two fairly young men kissed, very chastely of course, and my grandfather said "That's disgusting! Two men kissing....now two women...." I had to excuse myself to the bathroom to calm down before I blurted out that I was bisexual and what if I married a woman? I lost a bit of respect for him, but I realize he just comes from a different time where that kind of thing was unacceptable. I'm lucky to have been raised by understanding and open minded parents who easily accepted my sexuality, but that's not always the case.

BTW, my grandparents still don't know I'm bi.

Ughh, grandparents can be so horrible. My grandpa is one of the most open minded people I know. But my grandma is the exact opposite.

I recently watched a documentary with her about these conjoined twins who were getting married. My grandma thought it was "disgusting" and "unfair to the husbands" that they could even think about getting married to "normal people." I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I had to explain to her that the husbands have probably realized the woman they're marrying is attatched to another woman. But nope, grandma wouldn't have a bar of it.
