The people who can produce links and especially ones from 6 months ago or older kinda frighten me a little. Saving stuff like that because you just might be called to produce it later in some petty online argument is just...what. What are you doing with your life, wait don't answer that...

Exactly. You're saving things so that you can maybe use it against someone at a later date? That's like walking around with a voice recorder and recording every conversation you have with someone just in case. Holding a grudge much?

I don't tend to save links, but I've been in discussions where I know the other party is claiming to have never said something they did say, or hypocritically accusing someone of something they've done several times before, or [etc.] enough times to regret that.

Um, why is proving them wrong so important? It's an internet argument for godsakes, not a presidential debate. Getting that worked up about it to the point of saving links to stuff that pisses you off just in case you need to call someone you don't even know out with it later? That's the point at which you need to turn off the computer and reacquaint yourself with how people who actually have social skills handle the world.
