I was formulating some thoughtful explanation as to why someone might turn to piracy, but then I saw the TS3 logo and now I'm just baffled.

I can't see why you'd be disgusted by people refusing to pay excessive amounts of money for things that don't work as sold.

(missing the point, I know, but of all the games to use as examples... really?)

I haven't even played it, so I wouldn't know. I just know it's pretty easy to pirate according to my friends.

It's incredibly easy. Has been before the game even came out.

Because EA has been consistently shitty, especially in regards to Sims players, for years, and there's absolutely no reason to reward them for that by buying their products, especially when said products literally do not work.

Some pretty extensive third-party modding is required to make the game even enjoyable. Not something I'd consider worthy of blowing cash into the triple digits on.

...the point of all this being that sometimes piracy is, if not legally right, at least morally so, and the fact that someone downloaded a game instead of buying it doesn't mean they don't love it to pieces.

OR that they should be called disgusting for being unwilling/unable to shell out hard earned cash to pay for something that doesn't work and comes with a shit load of trouble attached. How many of EA's patches actually broke the game rather than fix it??

Yeah. I buy all of my games, but not the Sims. I think I only bought the base game, back when I didn't know better. I don't want to support EA.
