I don't like genre-renewing stuff. They tend to suck on the characterization! However, Princess Tutu strikes a nice balance between the two, even if I'm not big on the series.

I enjoys series like Avatar and Berserk more because they have a story to tell and use the genre in which they're told on to their advantage.

No, it's just a matter of personal taste. Princess Tutu is a much watch if that's your thing.

Oh - don't read Princess Tutu. WATCH it. The manga misses the point.
