There is something about the way this secret is phrased that really bothers me. I think it's the "suddenly lesbian" part, as if you can just decide one day to be a lesbian.

Sadly, it's kinda how it feels. Most fandom thought of her as bi, and her storyline during the last episodes felt really forced. The author probably tried to fix it up quickly to satisfy the fans. Yeah, it sucks. =|

Well, to be fair, the way that this storyline was written, it kind of feels like she was "suddenly a lesbian". It would have made a lot more sense is she was bisexual, but the writers doesn't believe in that.

Where do you get "suddenly a lesbian" from. The one time its addressed, she states she's sexually attracted to men, women and shrubbery. Which seeing as she's been sleeping with women and men since first season is consistent. She keeps saying she won't label herself.

Frankly I find the whole recent hiding the interest in Britney thing to be OOC. I mean before they were going on double dates with one guy (with implied kissing), holding hands, cuddling, and the works. Suddenly its bad?

LET'S JUST SAY IT: her being a lesbian is not a shrewd, progressive commentary on the way people can have many sexual relationships with people of the opposite gender before realizing they're gay, it's a huge fucking retcon. They pulled it out of nowhere when they realized how much the fans loved Brittana, and now they're trying to make it seem like it was always true, and that's just malarkey, as my mother might say. And then in "Sexy" she flat-out said she was attracted to men & women, but then she started calling herself a lesbian...even though we've only ever seen her attracted to or caring about Brittany. Now it just so happens that Naya is fucking awesome and she & Heather have amazing chemistry, so it's kinda working. But let's be real about the writing of it. So, yeah, I think shipping her with guys is fine. But it would be anyway, really--hell, isn't 80% of fandom about shipping straight men with other straight men? It's just good fun.
