wide hips that no man should ever have

This is a really skeevy sentence.

I didn't mean it to sound skeevy. I don't know if they deliberately padded his hips to look more female or if Rosenbaum's hips are naturally that wide, but he had a distinctly feminine shape in the movie. It was the sort of hourglass figure that Hollywood seems to think every woman should have. I suppose it's the reason he was made to wear tight clothes that emphasized his waist and hips, while the other guys wore baggy clothes to cover the fact that they are men.

So it was jarring that the movie treated him (and his shape) as though he was some horribly deformed beast, when he looked...well...very womanly.
