Ahh, I see! I'm a history kinda person.

Everyone says that Madoka Magica is a great show, but I don't find that appealing! At all! Apparantly, that has good animation, too, but GOD THEY'RE ALL SO UGLY.

I like. Anything, really. Genre doesn't matter! From Mai-HiME to Bakemonogatari to Deadman Wonderland to World God Only Knows to Kimi no Todoke, as long as it's good, it doesn't matter at all.

My biggest guilty pleasure is
Strike Witches.
I MEAN, THE CHARACTERS ARE AMAZING AND THEY'RE HISTORICAL AND ACCURATE AND OH GOD THE VOICE ACTRESSES AND SOUNDTRACK, BUT. BUT. It's Strike Witches.

To be fair though, the cutesy look is really just a trap for the plot.

Yeah, yeah, deconstruction people die, there's sadtimes, whatever.

Mai-HiME managed a deconstruction without making everyone look like they've been sat on by the world's fattest elephant. Bokurano managed an excellent deconstruction using the exact same idea as Madoka Magica without having to turn on the stupid ~*moe*~ crap to overdose.

I will say one thing for Madoka, though, and that's KAJIURA YUKI UNF UNF.

I'd probably like it, if it wasn't so awfully disgustingly awful-looking. And fat and blobby and skjfskljsljflajs ew. And if the opening wasn't so annoyingly generic. Everything screamed of trying-too-hard-to-look-cute.

Which is why Bokurano, Narutaru and Mai-HiME will be my favourite deconstructions of MAGICAL CHILDREN tropes.

But, y'know.

Haha, you probably wouldn't like Shiki then. The character designs are... kind of out there for a horror anime. It's excellent otherwise (except maybe the rushed ending) but it took a while to get used to the characters.

I googled it, and it doesn't look that bad? Purple Guy's hair is a bit like "here is a comb do you know what this is", but idk, aside from that, it's not awful and I sort of like it?

I'm not against weird or odd art styles, and I think it's kinda awesome and cool when they manage to be all wacky. But Madoka is just ugly.

Also, that's nothing compared to this (http://clemox2.free.fr/mai_otome/anime/persos/perso_tomoe.jpg) chick. I almost cried every time when she showed up, because HOW HARD IS IT TO CUT YOUR FUCKING HAIR STRAIGHT OH MY GOD SORT IT THE FUCK OUT

It looks like it was designed by a blind dachsund having a seizure in a paint shop of the ugliest colours in the world.

I actually liked Madoka, I could even get past the character designs, which I really really disliked.

I can't watch a series that's too ugly! Because ffffff I have to look at it and it makes me sad. ESPECIALLY SINCE I KNOW SHAFT CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.

I ended up watchng it because the backgrounds and the music is divine, but I couldn't get used to the character designs XD It's always a dig deal for me.

I almost watched it for the same reasons! It was animated by SHAFT, so weird-ass visuals were a given AND THAT ALONE TEMPTED ME, as well as the music being composed by Kajiura Yuki who is my favourite composer ever she's fucking excellent. BUT IT WAS SERIOUSLY JUST TOO UGLY. THE OPENING IN ITSELF MADE ME WANT TO CRY CELL-SHADED TEARS OF SACCHARINE COLOURS.

Yeah, of course! It's just skfjka hardly anyone has watched Strike Witches because lol lolis with no pants AND THEY MISS OUT ON THE AWESOME CHARACTERS.

I'm the same! I really hate moeshit, but Strike Witches surprised me in the best kinda way. Not to mention they had such a wonderful soundtrack and SEIYUU CAST HOLY SHIT SAEKO CHIBA.

I detest moeshit, and it's everywhere these days. 50% of the new anime shows are moe or harems. :/ Strike Witches at least brings something new to the table.
