I thought calling the currently airing doctor the new doctor was normal, tho I can't say Ive seen it happen a lot. Won't they say the same when 12 comes rolling in?

I came to the comments to say this.

Two was new compared to One. Three was new compared to Two. Four was new compared to Three. Five was new compared to Four... and I think I've made my point.

When Twelve finally gets here, he'll be the new Doctor in comparison to Eleven. It's nothing against the previous Doctor(s); it's just the way people think of him. Hell, I'm sure even the Companions are refered to by their place in the timeline. Rose and Sarah Jane and all the others are old Companions when compared to Amy.

Pretty much my thought. You're the "new" Doctor until you're the "last" Doctor. Then again I only got in at 9 so I'm used to always saying the "new guy" because they always are, especial compared to that one guy 40 years or more ago.

I know this is a verboten sentement for most DW Stans...but I like Matt Smith better as the Doctor then I liked Tennant. Don't get me wrong. I liked Tennant a lot. I just like Smith more.
