I think it's a maturity thing. Younger folk have a hard time praising something without making comparative remarks, implicitly or explicitly putting something else down in the process.

Okay, that kind of makes me laugh. :D

Supernatural fandom really is generally a nice, open place to be. Like any large fandom though, it can brew up some pretty impressive wank storms and finales, especially ones that have controversial elements to them, are always going to get people on edge. Give it a few weeks, people will calm back down again and it'll go back to being as it was before.
