Are you talking about the characters shown or their respective fandoms? Assuming it's the latter I think they're about equal in popularity. Both have their own chans and have around the clock threads on /co/.

I think Ponies might beat out HS in popularity by a bit though since it's based off an exsisting franchise, has merch, and even Happy Meal toys when the show was only a few months old. The online community was even refenced in a recent commercial! Meanwhile HS is completely online and has been explictly refenced once and that was by GaiaOnline.
