Man, can we just chill with this '4chan is the asshole of the internet' idea? There is a lot more to that site than /b/. I've made some really cool friends through 4chan and /co/'s encouragement was what gave me the courage to start posting my art in a non-anonymous capacity.

I'm not saying 4chan is better than f!s or worse, but I wish people would stop acting like the site is pure evil and the epitome of everything wrong with the internet, because it really, really isn't.

IAWTC so much. It's like nobody actually goes onto 4chan anymore unless its some sort of weird dare and the first thing they see is /b/ LOLOLOLOL and all the porn and they're like OH MAN I SPENT OVER /FIVE MINUTES/ on 4chan haha like it's an x-box achievement or something. /soapbox

/co/ is one of the nicest and most active comic fandom sites I can think of where nothing is taken too seriously.

The majority of 4chan is a lot nicer than this place. I've been treated way more courteously, especially anonymously, in that place than I have been here.

But if you're talking about /b/, then yes, in a way, it's the asshole of the internet. But at least you know you're going up to a straight up asshole, instead of getting the passive aggressive treatment.

i have met some pretty cool people here. and a lot of the posters in general are just really friendly and awesome. and while sometimes there is crazy wank, there's also a lot of interesting and open-minded discussion that goes on.

so yeah. i guess if you don't like it, gtfo?
