Not really. I just feel admiration and happiness because they should feel proud of themselves and I enjoy seeing the people I care about feeling good feelings.

I guess I might feel proud if I had helped them or supported them a lot with what they were doing, and they might not have got where they did without me.

Actually, I sort of feel like being proud of yourself and being proud of your loved ones are actually two entirely different things, we just happen to use different words for them.

But, IDK, I just don't see that there's more reason to be happy for someone you don't know who lived in the past and was an aristocrat than there is to feel sad for someone you don't know who lived in the past and was a peasant, just because you happen to be related to one and not the other.

I don't necessarily want to apply this to this secret, because OP said English isn't her first language and I think she's going for a word slightly different from 'proud', but motherfucking this. How do you be 'proud' of something you didn't choose or work toward?
