Aw, there's plenty of people who like slash, so I'm sure you won't have too much trouble finding friends who share this interest; look around, join communities etc. just like you'd do for any other interest of yours -- I'm sure there'll be plenty of people willing to squee with you! I assure you, we don't all bite ;)

As for your friends, would they really do that? Why? I'd say that a good friend would try to accept you even if they disagree on something, but depending on their reasons -- given that, well, it's not like you'd be telling them you are some kind of criminal -- if they really end up rejecting you maybe that's for the best. But anyway, it's your decision, just do as you feel :)
