(Anonymous) 2011-06-03 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)We used to be more chillaxed than we are now, but I think most (all?) big fandoms get wankier as they get older. Don't worry though, as someone who's been around for a while? It'll blow over soon enough. It always does. There might be new wank around to replace it, but eh. You just have to find a corner to hang out in with like minded people. That way if everyone around you gets upset at something, you'll probably be upset about it too, and then at least you can commiserate with each other.
Oh, and don't join general fandom comms. That's just a terrible idea. TBQH, in a fandom this big, I wouldn't want anything on my flist but a newsletter or two, maaaybe some of the smaller and more specific fic comms, and the personal journals of idividuals who I know are cool and unlikely to rub me the wrong way.
