Am I the only person who kind of likes negative reviewers sometimes? I have trouble when people feel like they HAVE TO LOVE EVERY SINGLE EPISODE EVER because they are a fan, especially because sometimes I don't like episodes, and I need to feel like I'm not crazy.

So when I need the negative I read reviews like that, if I don't need the negative I just scroll on by.

I mean yes, if watching a show is painful then someone should quit (I am a pretty dedicated fan but even I've quit shows here and there) but that's really up to the individual.

Plus some people criticize heavily and still enjoy a show, sometimes I get so busy talking about ONE thing I hated that I never talk about the ten other things I liked.

tldr Don't leave negative fans, I neeedddd yoooouuu! <3

I do. Especially since I, sadly, haven't been enjoying this season. It's nice to read the thoughts of someone who see's it the same way as you when everyone else is cheering how much they love it.

Fans should be allowed to rant and share their negative opinions on shows, and if you don't want to read someone saying bad things about it then... don't? The reviews of the person in the secret usually tell before you click the cut whether its postive or negative, and there's always backclick.

Also I definitely agree with the whole 'sometimes I only get around to talking about the one thing I hate and not the ten things I liked' sentiment - particularly when a majority of fandom seems to be really and genuinely enjoying every episode that airs. When my FList is full of praise for an episode that I found uninspiring and poorly written, I (and maybe this is passive aggressive, but whatever. Sue me) tend to feel like talking more about negatives in order to achieve some sense of balance.

Your second paragraph- I totally do that as well. If everyone is praising my automatic reaction tends to be, "Well it's not PERFECT guys."

But that's also part of who I am, I always see the bad with the good, I can turn my brain off for a while but it always kicks back on and even in my most beloved shows I'll see plot holes, poor characterization, badly written episodes, etc etc etc.

I also can only say "IT'S AWESOME" so much, I don't always feel the need to talk about how awesome things are either, but man, if I need to rant, I NEED TO RANT.

Yeah like I said if I don't want to hear it, I just scroll on by. Especially in the case of reviewers like the one OP was posting about- people kind of know how this person feels about the past two series, if you think they are torturing themselves watching the show- why should you torture YOURSELF by reading the negative reviews?

There are some Who fans that are really bad about wanting to get rid of the negativity too, but as much as I want to squee, sometimes I want to rant too. There is a place in fandom for both.

Exactly what it has been for me. After The Doctor's Wife aired my hopes went up for the season again, buuut then it was right back to the 'meh' :/ alas.
