It is because every time a new show-runner takes over on Dr Who he must be lambasted and hated for something, no matter how insane. Then that something will be held as an article of faith until the next show runner takes over and the hate can start afresh and nostalgia redeem the now previous show runner.

Seriously, seen it so often in Dr Who fandom. Y'know somewhere out there, there is a Who-fan who thinks that Verity Lambert RUINED the show FOREVER!11!one!

I think you're dismissing actual concerns, from people who don't have a blind hatred for Moffat or a blind love for RTD. "You're just looking for things to be angry about" is *such* a classic response to feminist analysis.

That said, I think there's some sad types who are desperately searching for reasons to rag on the new showrunner. I just don't think pointing that out as what everyone is doing who has any problems with the current show ever will get you very far with a feminist debate, because it comes across as trite and patronising tbh.

idk, it seems like the opposite. Moffat has been nearly universally praised and RTD's been getting lambasted. Both have their problems (and imo I think Moffat's problems offend me a little more, buuuut I really only came into the fandom watching Who live with Moffat, so I dunno) but it doesn't need to be the war it always is.

Disagree. I originally defended Moffat (back during RTD's era) when people insisted he was sexist, because I didn't see it.

It's his own writing (and the things he says) that have unfortunately convinced me that my "benefit of the doubt" view of him was wrong.
