Until I read these interviews with Moffat now it would never have occured to me that he was sexist. I've always got my "omfg sexism" goggles on, and the few times it doesn't show infrared is when I watch Doctor Who.

That said I cannot agree with people claiming River isn't an awesome character because her life revolves around the Doctor. I mean obviously it would seem like that, wouldn't it? We travel with the doctor, so the few times we meet up with her is when the doctor needs her awesome skills to help him out of a sticky situation. Clearly she's been up to more whenever we aren't "peeking in on her", so to speak.
When she talked to Rory about always waiting she did so because he would actually understand what that entails. He waited over two thousand years for Amy, after all. If loving someone makes you a weak female character then what does that make Rory?
