Or stay in it, either. Actually, fangirls would prefer female characters didn't exist.

That's really sad, considering it comes from fangirls.

I don't think girls aren't allowed to dislike female characters. I know I don't care about female characters (I can't think of any right now...) but most female characters are hated on by female fans because the girls are "too weak" or "too strong" or the dumbest argument yet, "In the way of yaoi pairings".

I'm just confused as to why some girls would rather female characters either "on the side and left there" because they're on the same level as a badass hero or "join in and kick ass" because she's too soft-spoken and fragile. It's all preference but it's really confusing to hear females complain about lack of girl action but when there is, the girls are "Sues" or something. :S

It's also the delusional fangirls who admit that they feel the female characters are in the way of the true OTP: Hot guy x Themselves.

True. I know someone has to be saved, but when it's the same person all the time and there is clearly a correlation between "weak" and "girl", it's aggravating.

Oh, absolutely.

Ahaha, I always prefer the people being saved to be male. :( I also like it when the need-to-be-rescued characters go "goddamn, this is annoying" rather than "omg I'm so helpless save me!"

Word. It's totally possible to have strong (even kick-ass) characters who need saving, sometimes, as long as you have a villian worth their salt at all (See: Alias. OR Heroes. Or Lost). And that applies to both characters that are good at defending themselves but got out manuverd, or characters who can't fight worth a damn, but are awesome in other ways (Marshall on Alias, FTW!). Either is preferable to a girl (or guy, though that is rare) who just stands there going "OMG, my only purpose is to be weak and scared."
