What would you have her do, sit on the sidelines and be useless while the men go off and do their jolly male-dominating thing? A strong, important character does NOT a Sue make.

I liked her in the first two movies :S

I agree wholeheartedly with the other commenters. Seriously, I recommend maybe taking a step back and actually listening to their arguments, rather than brushing them off. The key to debate is being open to others' opinions =\

But I don't agree with them :/

Then at least treat their opinions with respect. They took the time to make GOOD counter arguments that you specifically asked for, so be a little more receptive =\

I treated their opinions with respect at first. :)

Yeeaaaah, that doesn't cut it if you continue to ask.

I mean don't me wrong, I'm a total wanker when I want to be too. But you can't have it both ways.

Eh, I got bored with the argument real fast. That happens to me alot.

I do too---I've long since discovered that internet arguing is 99% of the time completely pointless and I tend to degenerate into /b/ memes and fiftyhitlers---but people were actually presenting genuine arguments from the start, and instead of addressing their points and disproving them, you just covered your ears went NO NO NO NO NO. So I guess it wasn't really an argument from the start.

Point is, don't ask if, like me, you have a low tolerance for OL debate.

I didn't do that at the start. If someone says ELIZABETH IS NOT A SUE BECAUSE SHE LEARNED HOW 2 FIGHT, and I say no, then... I mean, I'm not gonna agree with them if I think what they're saying is retarded.

Besides, I rpovided plenty of reasons for why I think she's a sue :)

And then when people countered your points with legitimate arguments that disprove your own, you didn't address them.

Whatever, I'm going back to failing at Hitman.

Hey, if someone says she's not a sue because she wears pants or whatever, there's not a whole lot I can do to argue that. It all comes down to what someone's interpretation of a Sue is, I guess.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHY DOES LJ KEEP SIGNING ME OUT

Re: (spoiler warning, before anyone clicks on this collapsed thread by accident)

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I read the threads, and those weren't the arguments. They were legitimate anti-Sue arguments and you know it.

I don't know, maybe your cookies are fucked up? If you're using Firefox that happens sometimes.

Yeah sure they were legit. Doesn't mean I have to agree with them at all 9_6

I'm not. I think my computer has herpes or something.
