I am so goddamn sick of people harping on this argument, over and over again. LOL BITCH U HOT, WHY YOU COMPLAINING? Obviously she's just a slore who's fishing for compliments like any other manipulative wo-man!

We live in a society where no matter how pretty you are, there is someone, somewhere, who will tell you exactly what is displeasing about your face, your body, your hair, your teeth, your boobs, or the birth mark on your left ass-cheek, and why it is your fault. If they're especially good at it, by the time they're done you'll feel like you're worth less as a person because of X flaw. It doesn't matter if you are obese and heavy browed or thin as a rake and hand-crafted by the gods: nobody is safe from the pressure put on women to be perfect, and even those who are attractive will still obsess over their flaws the same way as an unattractive person will. Hotness does not magically make people less sensitive to widespread societal pressure.

Honestly. Is it really that mother fucking hard to understand why girls are insecure about their looks, even the ~hot ones? Jesus fucking Christ, I thought we were supposed to be intelligent here, or at least above this basic bullshit.

I've been called ugly just as many times I've been called pretty. I've been bullied and teased about my looks to my face by boys. And when I look in the mirror I try, but I usually can't help but agree.

So it's grating to hear people just invalidate me and shut me up when i express any worry -my family rolls their eyes and ignore me, like I'm some attention whore and that's supposed to make me feel better.

It only makes me feel like they're tired of lying and want to stop talking. .-.

Super late reply but I just wanted to say that I agree with everything you said. I know so many beautiful women who are very insecure about their looks and they aren't ~fishing for compliments~ when they say something that reflects this insecurity. All the hate in this secret for women who don't like the way they look is really disheartening.
