Unless they were asleep or something at the time, they probably know you were crying, because I've been on the other side of this kind of situation before, and crying is one of those sounds it's really difficult to ignore (or be quiet about).

You should maybe talk about this with your friend, if only to clear the weirdness from the air, but it's up to you. I think this seems like an intensely personal moment for you, and it's natural not to want to talk about it.
