Yeah, same. The guy on the right looks great in some shots, but most of the time they just don't do it for me at all. "Generic" is exactly the word I'd use. But I know lots of the male actors I find attractive don't appeal to my friends, so... yep. Eye of the beholder.

I wouldn't say "horribly boring," but they really don't do it for me in the same way they seem to for nearly everyone else. Like, I'm aware that they're good-looking and I think they're lovely people personality-wise, they just...don't do anything for me. *Kanyeshrug* Misha, on the other hand...have mercy.

I feel that way about both of them as well.
But I don't understand the appeal of a lot of people that are widely considered to be attractive. (Notable exceptions go to Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, I totally see the appeal there.)
Whatever, different people have different taste.

I've never really gotten it either. Jared Padelecki (Padalecki? idek) is kinda cute I guess (I think I just like his hair) but I do NOT get the appeal of Jensen Ackles AT ALL and it kind of baffles me. Maybe you have to watch the show to get it (I don't, so...). But, whatever. To each their own.

You're definitely not alone there. I don't get the whole "attractive" thing at all, because I've never experienced such a feeling myself, but whatever gets their panties wet I guess. As long as it's not harming anyone, who cares?

Do you watch the show? For me it was the characters that made the guys hot. Before I watched it, I was like "yeah, they're nice to look at, but no real ~spark" but then I fell in love with Dean in the first fucking episode so Jensen was hot as fuck, then Jared became hot to me like a season later (not til Born Under A Bad Sign was I like "I GET WHAT THOSE SAM-GIRLS ARE TALKING ABOUT, I GET IT!")

also, ya know, different strokes etc.

Not that surprised. I didn't notice Jensen as particularly attractive when he was on Smallville. It was only after I got interested in Supernatural that I thought he was hot, and even then it depends on the hair/shot (the poster you show is NOT hot to me). There are fairly few characters that I actually think of as OMG! HOT! without already loving them. It's about 20% passably attractive and 80% fannishness for me.

Actually, I don't understand the opposite view that well where someone isn't interested in a show/ship because they find the characters fug. The Sentinel gets this a lot from slashers, and I'm left thinking "but Jim let Blair stay at his place for a week after meeting four episodes ago and Blair never moves out! Jim mentions he wants to take a vacation and Blair immediately arranges one for both of them and Jim gets angry because ... there's no tv/electronics. And the whole spiritual retreat thing. But not Blair deciding that Jim wanting a vacation meant both of them were going. And spirit animals! Merging." Man, I haven't read any fanfic or watched it in ages but that show had one of the slashiest relationships I've seen.
