I used to think this series was uninteresting and overrated.
Then I gave it a chance.

I don't know how bad it is since I couldn't really get too far, because it really was boring and uninteresting, and I still think it's overrated.

Except it actually DOES.

It goes from lighthearted silliness about a kid trying to work an inventory system properly to him and his four friends doing the best to survive post-apocalypse in a world created by a game that seems unwinnable, involving temporal mechanics, a huge cast of fun characters, and some of the best music on the internet.

and by that I presume you mean it goes from pointless rambling nonsense, to a reeking pile needlessly convoluted and byzantine bullshit with a bloated cast of unlikeable characters and... okay I will give you the point on the music.

STOP DISLIKING WHAT I LIKE

it's not some people's bag, it's not a stunning masterwork. those latter things are not in themselves good, although some may enjoy them. and the music blows (or, to put it more fairly, the music is not to everyone's taste).
