(Anonymous) 2011-06-06 08:23 am (UTC)(link)I'm gonna be honest and say I tried to be clear in that comment but probably failed. I didn't say this person hates women, I was trying to say "it would suck if you did this because you hate women". So I have bad grammar and pessimism, okay.
look, I know most people won't read this the way I did, but I did. If someone said " I pretend to be white online (or asian, or black)" it's pretty damn easy for everyone to see the read I took form that secret. I just wanted to press that button, make that connection, whatever. I just wanted to use it as a warning.
I think it's fun to have fun with your identity, there's nothing wrong with that. And it's important to explore too. But I (probably incorrectly) jumped to the worst case scenario in my head and hey, I'm not gonna pretend like that possibility isn't there because it is there.
