It's unfortunate that the lack of communication, or maybe the lack of listening skills on the part of the person fawning over the fandom. I know what that feels like. It's like shoving tapioca pudding in the face of a baby that doesn't like it. It gets spat back out. Perhaps you should try to talk to this person again and let them know that you're simply not interested in the fandom and never had.

Indifference to a show is one things. It's totally different when that indifference turns into hatred because of a fan or few trying to make a convert out of you. I'm sorry this happened.
