THIS THIS THIS OH MY G...CAS. I've been saying exactly these fears ever since the finale. I'm trying not to worry too much because he was a regular in S6 and was still only in about half the eps, so maybe it's just a contractual/money thing. (WHAT?! THE ORIGINAL SCRIPT HAD HIM DYING? AAAUGH) I know they can't just build around the fandom, but seriously, they can't get rid of him entirely, can they??? We love him too much and he's too integral to the storylines and...and...asdsa;nfkafnakn;a

The original script didn't have him dying. I'm sure they planned his being God before that. The only thing we know is that at the beginning of the season the writers told Misha they were planning on killing off Cas in the season finale. Who knows when they changed their minds or why, but I seriously doubt it was after they'd already written a version of 6.22.
