Actually, a dislocated shoulder can be re-set fairly easily. I've dislocated mine twice and both times the MD just sort of shoved it back in there. You might need surgery for the surrounding tendons and ligaments so that it won't happen again, but popping the shoulder back in isn't all that difficult.
