I feel the same way whenever a character talks "tech speak" or is "hacking" and it makes absolutely no sense. But I understand why it's done. Watching someone actually hack or talk technical would be BORING for people who don't understand it. It's also to speed up the process because you won't keep an audience if you dedicate 10 minutes of computer tech explanations. Same thing goes for fictional medical injuries.

But I agree, it is annoying.

Oh man, I was about to post this. My favorite is the "let me take this picture and zoom in on a specific detail... just press the magical 'SHARPEN' button a few times and you will know EXACTLY what that license plate taken from one mile away says!"

Or "hacking" into things that cannot be hacked into.
