For me, it depends, really. With action movies and the like, I go in with different expectations. Watching characters get beat up and go on long after they'd have DIED in real life is half the fun, IMO.

I don't really watch medical drama shows much, but I can generally ignore the inaccuracies because not being a professional, I don't usually catch them.

I do get blindsided at times, though. [AN OLD MENTALIST SPOILER] Like in Mentalist that detective whatshisname getting shot by the secretary who worked for Red John, and later dying in the hospital? I'm still completely baffled by that. I mean, he was in the hospital, awake and alert, and he died of... the after-effects of blood loss? What? What the fuck? What the fucking fuck? Dying on scene, fine. Dying on the way to the hospital, sure. Dying from infection in the hospital, okay. Dying from blood loss at the hospital, when you're out of surgery, awake, not bleeding...? >:(
