So is this show like soft-core porn? Worth watching? What's the general plot about?

It has sex scenes? I wouldn't call it soft-core.

It's about a bunch of noble families fighting viciously to gain control of the throne of the Seven kingdoms, with a big supernatural threat looming in the background as winter is coming.

That's as simply as I can put the plot. Lot's of political intrigue, backstabbing, death, war, real dark and gritty fantasy. It doesn't pull any punches with it's depictions of a medieval society either. Not for the faint of heart, it should be warned, but if you don't mind all that I heartily recommend it :)

Okay a bit of an hyperbole there, but all I've heard of Game of Thrones so far has been about the sex scenes.

I guess it's something I'll have to give a try before I'll know if I'll like it or not. Thanks for trying to summarize anyway.

It's definitely not all sex scenes! There are a fair number of them, but they all either a) serve a plot purpose, or b) are there to kind of cover up necessary but potentially boring exposition (which is a trick they've used so much it's becoming repetitive IMO -- my only real complaint about the show -- but at least it's not just for titillation. There's plot and character stuff being revealed at the same time as the sex!).

But yeah, I highly encourage you to check it out if awesome, complex characters (including the BAMF in my icon) taking part in morally grey political intrigue interspersed with amazing fight scenes sounds appealing to you at all. But be warned, it gets super dark.
