Not really sure why this is a secret, but either way Mari is awful and you should feel awful.

Kind of hard to judge that this early in the game though, isn't it? We barely know anything about her at all, and given the heavy emphasis on which pilots are able to synch with which Evas, there's got to be some strong backstory there.

I was skeptical at first, but I'm holding out. I really don't think Anno or Gainax would toss in an underdeveloped and throwaway character into a series already considered a masterpiece.

Honestly now, she knows a ~super special secret code~ that makes the Evas turn extra-badass, her personal Eva has four legs, she's a ~smart and beautiful transfer student~ with huge boobs, and (judging from her lines so far) if/when they do decide to give her a personality we can pretty safely assume that she's going to be an excessively eccentric / special snowflake kind of character.
She's a goddamn mary sue and she doesn't belong in the franchise.

I think that was more of a detriment than anything else. I'm so glad that super ugly Eva lasted only like five minutes, I think I puked when I saw the initial designs for that thing

Not really, they're kind of a normal size. I do agree her outfit is like, fanboy fetish material, but she has an average rack (I can't say the same about any fanart of her, though)

For me, if she ends up having the depth we've come to expect from characters in this series, that's all good. Matter of opinion, I suppose.

That code does make me wonder though. "The Beast," really? Doesn't sound much like a secret code. If we don't get some kind of backstory regarding why that code even exists, I'm going to be disappointed.
