(Anonymous) 2011-06-12 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)It's that I'm surprised I like such a 1) Recent Disney movie when the older ones are more well-liked and 2) The main character is extremely different from me. I wasn't exactly in the movie's target audience as much.
Charlotte's cool, but she's not my favorite. I like her though, she was funny and a good silly, dreamy foil to Tiana's serious, down-to-earth nature.

My personal experience with the movie is, from the previews, I didn't expect to like it. So, I didn't even really want to watch it. Except that I did want to support old-school hand-drawn animation. It's a dying art, and I think I have a soft-spot for those. XD
But then when I actually saw the movie, I dunno, I personally wasn't that impressed with Tiana or the prince or... no, I was moved almost to tears by Bubba and Evangeline. Ugh, that was just so lovely. But by the time I watched it a second time, I've now gotten to loving the movie.
(Admittedly, Charlotte is one of my favorite characters because, self-centered as she may be, she's insanely selfless. ♥ I love her to PIECES.)
