The pandering... it really made me feel awkward at first, but at the same time, the show kind of deserves to make fun of its fans when looking at some of the loudest ones. Jesus, the twitter death threats alone for anyone remotely involved in the cast is horrifying.

Plus, it does give the show some wonderful fourth-wall breakage, which I personally love. So I'll take the super awkward interpretations of the fans with that /shrug

Oh apparently there was a thing where one or two of the actors brought their wives and people were all 'omg I am sitting here and they are being cute I want to kill her' or something. I mean, it's not SERIOUS death threats, but... it's just crazy.

Yeah, to me, the jokes and pandering is more just the writers saying 'Hey, guys, thanks so much for loving our show and our work and standing by us.' And by the same token, the Beckys of the show wind up being a little of a 'we love you guys, we really do, but you do kinda freak us out some, could you maybe tone down the crazy a tad so we don't feel the need to sleep with one eye open?'

But I think of it really just being the writers saying how much they appreciate all the love that the fans give to the show, and, let's face it, the slash fans are very vocal, which means they're usually the first to be heard.
