MLP fandom scares me, not because they're adults or there's men or whatever--it's ridiculous to say they can't enjoy it, and faust herself said the show's meant for the parents (including male ones!) too--but because (a lot of people) are just so rabid. as in like, god forbid anyone not like it or feel a little fatigued from all the hype...? tons of creepiness too idk

because of this, it sort of boggles my mind when people say MLP fandom is "really great and tolerant," but maybe i just haven't seen its good side or something. i dunno.

The rabidness is actually the reason I'm afraid to venture into it. I'm already in one rabid fandom (though the part I'm most active in isn't too bad, really) and I got out of another just as it was starting to turn ugly due to the over-involved fans. Well, that and I'm also intimidated because I've never really been a part of a fandom for anything animated before. Not anything that was active, anyway.
