(Anonymous) 2011-06-13 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)Writing, really writing, as a passion, means developing strength and confidence in yourself and in your words. People who get embarrassed of what they write and hide it are weaklings and should man up. Or more likely, woman up.
(I do think it's a girl thing. Socially, women are taught to lack confidence in themselves and their work. Of course not every woman will, but I do think self-defeating shyness is rampant in some corners of fandom. I'd pity these people, but pity doesn't help anyone. Sometimes a cluebat can, though.)
If you delete because you're scared your boss will find it, or because grudgewankers are stalking you, I have no issue with you.
If you delete because you lack self-confidence, well, that's your right. But it's my right to think you're a weakling and feel embarrassed and kind of disgusted by your insecurity.
