1) Darwin dies not long after the group become acquainted among one another
2) because he dies, he doesn't get character or power development like Alex and the other kids do which again shows that we don't know that much about Darwin from the movie
i tend to think way too deeply when it comes to fandom, but i just say that i agree with the OP
