I can't stop flailing over it... League and PV secrets that I know for a fact I didn't write?? And here I thought there were only like three people in the fandom...

It's probably from people watching Psychoville and then scrambling to find out who the crazy genius creators are.

And good on them for doing it! League is one of the best comedy series ever made.

Of the more than 100 characters in this series and all of the character development that went on, (Sometimes League characters would change more in a single three minute sketch than some characters from other shows change in three years) Pauline and Ross were always the ones that stood out to me. There's so much to analyse and think about, even though it's 'just a comedy show.'

I think it all really owes to the amazing writing as much as the nuanced acting in each character, they did things with LoG (and PV too) that you just don't see much in terms of depth of character. The simplest, most seemingly insignificant things have depth and meaning.

Okay, OP? I want to be best friends with you and the leavers of the great comments before mine. I've been *DYING* to talk about them for months and nobody else seems interested.

I love your take. I would definitely say that they do love each other - but I think Ross is MUCH more invested in it than she is and thinks the only way to be with her is by force. I genuinely think he was intending to use Pauline's betrayal to destroy her relationship with Mickey (by exposing her, naturally - I think even without evidence Mickey luv would possibly believe him and I don't know that she would actually outright lie to him about it when asked) but recanted when she made it rather clear that there wouldn't be another time. From her angle, I think that there is an intense attraction to Ross - but she couldn't actually have a romantic relationship with him as he is an intellectual threat. Pauline is a control freak - he's smarter than she is (and she knows this) and would *always* have the upper hand. However, I do think it hurt them to acknowledge that both are sort of going back to their opposite corners.

And Mickey... I really do think she loves Mickey. But, that's probably a topic for another post. Hah.

In my head this whole plot line is basically just "EPIC OT3", but I'm seconding other commenters and saying: the writing in this series is remarkable, and the development these two went through was absolutely magnificent.

And the little wave at the wedding got to me too.
