Considering this fandom has 18sih (depending on whether you count the Disney revision of MMPR) seasons, there's definately a lot of variety. Of course we have the OOCs and Mary Sues and obsessed shipping as well. Though at least the first two seem to more on ff.net than anywhere else.

(Power Ranger was my first fandom experience and I've never left)

I never knew that there was more to this series than "Fly by Night!!!" I wanted to own a pony like Sixpence (which was the pony's name, not the price!) like crazy. I loved that book to pieces and back again, and always thought about the girl character and her pony Fly, living in that ramshackle house with the stable for the pony, and stuff for her Dad to tinker with, and how happy I was to see them out of that modern development. "Nothing much to do in a new house...."

Oh Warriors. I love the first series to pieces, am willing to ignore the grammar and spelling errors and calling Tigerclaw Tigerpaw, of all things, but god, were the series after that painful to read. I managed to finish the second series, but the third one fell way too flat to bother to continue. And almost no one died despite all the fighting, urgh.

Didn't they change one cat's sex too? I think my friend pointed it out.

I never want any of my pairings to become canon, regardless of them being m/m, f/f, or m/f. Mostly because 90% of a time, once a pairing becomes canon, I end up absolutely hating the way its handled.

Well, I'd advise you to get un-embarassed, because the trick is it works differently from game to game. You have to find a game you want to join and then, as often as not, they'll have a "how to" or style guide posted on their profile page or at the top of their forum, and then you can lurk and watch other players before you jump in. Most people who are new to any game, even if they're seasoned RPers elsewhere, aren't expected to know how to do it right as soon as they join.

At least, that's how it's worked in pretty much every RP I've ever been part of.
