Me too, OP. I often feel like the people who love Homestuck, but haven't read PS or got bored with it, or who skipped the intermission, or who hate the carapaces... well I feel like they're just kinda dumb people in general. Problem Sleuth is genuinely hilarious, but you have to think a little bit harder about it and have a slightly more off-beat, thoughtful, sense of humour to really enjoy it.

This is a symptom of the mspa fandom as a whole though. They latch onto the worst jokes (we get it, buckets haha whatever) and gloss over some of the funniest bits (if it weren't for your trusty knives, you'd slit your wrists, etc.). A lot of the kids who are Homestuck fans just aren't very mature.

Or maybe they simply like and dislike different things than you? I know it's hard to accept but not everyone has to share the same opinions as you.

Problem Sleuth is genuinely hilarious... To you. That doesn't mean that everyone shares your sense of humor, nor should everyone have to share your sense of humor.

For example, personally I didn't enjoy PS. It wasn't because I didn't 'get' the jokes, it was because it's just funnier to me when the humor/jokes come from character interactions, which PS wasn't exactly heavy on.

As far as the examples you gave from homestuck, the main thing about the bucket jokes was how the trolls reacted to - and how the humans didn't quite get *why* they reacted to it. At least for some people, and [for 'if it weren't for your trusty knives, you'd slit your wrists' specifically] not everyone finds remarks like that funny. In fact, for some people, those remarks could be triggering. So, it's not necessarily because someone is 'immature' that they don't find those jokes funny.
