I thought it was a fantastic episode for Martha, if there hadn't been a plot line to keep the Doctor occupied then Martha would not have had a chance to shine on her own and show that she could do it all with out him.

Uh, well, I think all of us have something that we get strangely annoyed about...? So I kinda understand you, though I don't hate the episode. And oh, I'd love to see Martha with Eleven too, I like her muuuuch better then Amy...

To this day I do not understand why Martha was in that episode in the first place. She'd already been a supporting companion in the two-parter before and in TDD she and her Red Shirted Pet Hath did nothing together that added to the plot.

Sorry but the only one I'm sort of miffed for in that whole thing is Donna. She only got one series as the main companion and most of the time she seemed to be sharing her screen-time with past companions we'd seen only a couple of series' ago. Or future companions, in the case of the Library two-parter. Yay for Martha being pushed to the side in TDD, imo, Donna was my favorite and I took all the time of her in S4 I could get. <_<

I honestly forgot she was in it until I just wracked my brain. So if RTD did promise that it would be Martha-centric, I definitely see where you're coming from.

Don't blame Georgia, the whole episode was spectacularly bad. It's a long string of sci fi clichés, really. I actually ended up liking Jenny, and that's entirely to Georgia's credit, because it sure as hell isn't the writing. (Also, is it just me, or does the Doctor/Jenny dynamic feel a bit creepy? It's like DT's attraction to Georgia is showing.)

Martha hate makes me sad, though. I love her to bits.

Every word of THIS. I think Martha is the best NuWho companion hands down, but yeah, stop hating on GM. Hate the character of Jenny, fine, but not Georgia who did the best job she could with the material she was given. I mean, I loathe Rose to pieces, but that does not mean I'm cool with Rose-haters who bash Billie!

I don't even get this. You know it is RTD's fault, so why hate on GM? And "bimbo"? Really? I get disliking this episode, but this just makes no sense. Martha is my favorite too, but I don't hate on other companions because I felt she got jilted sometimes (and I wouldn't say she did in this episode).

I have to agree that Martha and Eleven would be pretty awesome together, though, and I hope it happens in an episode!

I adore Martha (re-watching the series, at season 3 now), but I also liked Jenny. I've always felt bad for how Martha was treated in season 3, but she kicked ass all the same, which made up for it. Not about to hate on Jenny for that, though! She was cute.

This secret is such a trainwreck I don't even know where to start.

PLEASE, DOCTOR WHO FANDOM, FOR ONE DAY CAN YOU NOT DEFEND ONE OF THE LADIES BY BASHING THE OTHERS? They're all fucking awesome enough to be defended on their own merits. Why do you always put the women in some weird sort of competition? It isn't one. It isn't one to the Doctor, it isn't one to them, and it's really demeaning to always pit them against one another just because they're women and apparently loving one of them means you have to hate another one.

And the personal insults against Georgia? Really gross. I agree with an above comment: you find it easier to hate the woman who did nothing than the man who is responsible for the thing you are angry about.

Um, I am one of the biggest Sarah Jane fangirls you will find on this planet, and even I don't think she was the Doctor's one-true-love (even if the reverse was largely true). He's not really into the one-true-anything.

The episode had problems and I would have loved for Martha's part to be bigger, but that was in no way Jenny/Georgia's fault. I see her as yet another victim of RTD's "the Doctor seeds the universe with heroes" trope, which was also part of Martha's role in that ep.

Anon is really obviously forgetting the dimension cannon. That was Rose's equivalent of walking the Earth for a year, and I'm pretty sure Rose was dimension-hopping for longer (the consensus over at the Doctor/Rose meta comm seemed to be three or four years, since time in Pete's World ran ahead).

Dimension-hopping was pretty damn dangerous, too. Rose put her life at risk just as much as Martha did, and it wasn't only to find the Doctor, it was to save the Earth, because the stars were going out and she had to warn him so they could stop it. It irks me that the secretmaker has conveniently chosen to forget about the aspect of Rose that invalidates their argument.

I thought the whole Jenny plot was cute, but they should have added more for Martha to do on her own than just walk outside and get to place. Should have been able to at least save her fish friend. Especially since Martha was the most independent of the NuWho companions.

The mention of Doctor's daughter episode made my brain go into slight rage before I could read the rest, I mean it is without a doubt the absolute WORST Nu!Who episode.Even with all it's moral f-up ness in some episodes in season 6 I cannot help but utterly despise this episode.

I mean Jenny seducing the guard was annoying but I can deal with that but then doing back flips over lazers? Getting the 'death' where everyones sad about it- and eventually winning anyone on the good side over and then not really being dead at all?

WTF? What awful fanfic did they steal that from?

It was uterly pathetic as an episode and I can't get how anyone can like it at all.
