It's just disgusting, considering that most of the time it pits female character v. female character, which leads to all sorts of gross sexist comments, not to mention that it's typically female v. female all to decide who's "worthier" of the glory of the love and affection of the male hero figure and his magical penis of unicorns and glitter.

And the thing is - yeah, I do have my favourites - but these secrets just never make sense to me. It's like, I'm running this episode in my head and I just don't see it...the things that people get angry about (arrrrghhh, my fav character had 30 second less screen time because of character I dislike, arrrrrgh.

I have my favorite characters in every fandom, but I don't go tearing other characters just to prove my love of my favorites. The fact that Doctor Who Fandom seems to feel that the only way to love one companion is to hate all the others (the majority of which are female) is just sad.
