I've read all four books, and I don't have any strong opinions either way. IMO it's just a series of idealized, wish-fulfillment personal fantasies that are just meant to entertain. Haters are taking this way too seriously (or hating because it's the cool thing to do), and Twi-hards are just in it for the eye candy and so-called "romance".

I wouldn't take the class (spending $400 to discuss Twilight? there's better use of my money), but I would definitely sneak into a couple classes, because it does sound freaking fascinating.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I've read the books and I watch the films. There are things I like about them and things I dislike. I am kind of in the fandom because I think it's fun but I don't really understand the twi-hards or the haters. I wish there were more people who didn't feel too strongly one way or the other.
