I had a great conversation about Twilight with my mom last year. She's a high school English teacher and when it came to book report time, almost all the girls in her class chose Twilight books or similar fare. I have read all the books so I turned into her translator/guide into the world of Twilight. She's not a fan of them, but she's just so happy that her students are actively reading she looks past it.

I wish more people would swallow their hipster rage and focus their energies on productive tasks. *wistful sigh*

Not like the books because they are shite is perfectly valid, as long as you can back it up. But so many people I talk to about it (and so many other topics) have shallow arguments. "IT SUCKS BECAUSE IT SUCKS AND PEOPLE WHO READ IT SUCK!" is what I think of when I'm saying "hipster rage". It's cool to hate Twilight and it'll be cool to hate whatever is next.

I really don't like the books at all myself and think they deliver a horrible message. I'm not saying the only way to truly express hatred over the books is to read them, but I just can't stand when anyone uses such tactics. Don't just scream at me "WORST THING EVER CUS I SAY SO!".
