Fithed :( Been refreshing to see if anybody knows.

OP

Sorry for the delay in answering, everyone! The new posting time means that I can't check FS until after I'm home from work in the evening :(

The art is from the French comic book "Page Noire". I really recommend it -- the story is great, the characters amazing (with ripe ladyslash potential if that's your thing), and the art is really unique... See, depending on which protagonist is in focus, the style changes drastically (http://i56.tinypic.com/30sdet1.jpg). *coughs* I've been meaning to write a proper rec of this for ages, so sorry for going on and on!

Awesome! Thank you :)

I cannot find the english version of this anywhere :(

Re: OP

(Anonymous) 2011-06-22 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... that's because it doesn't exist.

Even if you don't know enough French to make it through the comic, I'd still recommend it just on a picture-reading basis. But then there's the factor of you having to import it from French Amazon or something, which can be pricey. I looked around to see if I could at least offer you a download/scans, but no dice. Sorry!

No worries hopefully this will be translated in the future

Re: OP

(Anonymous) 2011-06-22 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much, OP. I've been looking for awesome books/comics to practice my French with, and I love me some ladyslash.

[identity profile] abluestocking.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe put them on AO3? I know that's where I check first for tiny fandoms, so maybe you could connect with other people there. <33

[identity profile] atanvarne-lj.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Don't you need an invite for AO3? I remember folks on my flist handing them out eons ago, but haven't really kept up with it since then.

Just curious.

[identity profile] abluestocking.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Technically, yes. I'd offer you one but I don't have any right now.

But it's actually really easy to get an account without one. That's what I did. You just go here (http://archiveofourown.org/invite_requests) and put your name on the waiting list. I got an invite code the next day, iirc. :)

[identity profile] atanvarne-lj.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Good to know. Thanks!

[identity profile] crimsontriforce.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I kinda know the feeling, but... you never know. You're paving new ground. Even if nobody cares now, someone may get into that particular fandom and your fic will be precious to them.

And, seconding the first commenter, that picture's nice. Where does it come from?

OP

(Anonymous) 2011-06-21 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, you're right...! God knows I would've been super-happy to find a fic in one of these fandoms. Thanks :)

Oooh, thank you! Wishlist'd :D
I'm glad it helped somehow :) I've been on all sides of the issue here, as a reader and as a writer... it does work sometimes. I see that the other commenters have provided great tips on archives and exchanges... best of luck with your tiny fandoms!

[identity profile] sarajayechan.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I felt the same way when I got into my pet non-existent fandom, but I decided it was better to post my stuff and potentially be ignored than to keep it hidden away just because I felt like a dork. XD

[identity profile] rabidsamfan.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'll second the suggestion for Ao3, and add that you would probably fit in real well with the Yuletide challenge for small fandoms. There are also some comms for small fandoms out there, which can be neat. (And you never know, one story might find someone else who really likes that fandom too.)

(Anonymous) 2011-06-21 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
I kind of /ike that typing quirk you seem to be using. Or maybe its just a rea//y whacky font. Either way!

I may have to stea/ it.

OP

(Anonymous) 2011-06-21 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, thanks! I wish I could take credit, but alas, it is indeed a font. It's called "Marble Days", and you can download it here (http://www002.upp.so-net.ne.jp/sety01/font/marble.html) if you want ;)

(Anonymous) 2011-06-21 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
If you're concerned about spamming your flist, you can simply check the backdate option when you are about to post the entry, and it shouldn't show up on their reading page. Just mention in your next entry that you posted a fic for Nonexistent Fandom, and anyone who's interested can easily check it out.

I read fics in fandoms I'm unfamiliar with all the time. A good story is a good story.

[identity profile] amethystium.livejournal.com 2011-06-22 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, OP, no! You may never know, there might be at least one person who's desperate to find fic for her/his non-existent fandom, so you actually might make someone's day by sharing your writing. Of course, if you're looking for a larger audience, that's a whole other thing, but really, as a person who tends to often get into tiny fandoms (and I actually got sucked into fandoms because of well-written fanfiction before), I'm eternally grateful for those people who share their fanfic on the internet, regardless the size of the potential audience.
